Only (at present) Oolite will give you this, although I hope Pioneer does one day too. If you want to try it, I recommend you install the Furball oxp and watch the fur fly! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

I have both, but embarrassingly I've not had much of a chance to play Evochron mercenary, but I do know X3 (in fact all the X series) have ships doing their own thing. I would imagine Evochron mercenary would have it too. The problem for me cultist is I have too many games and not enough time to spend on them <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' /> Don't you like Oolite cultist?

It don't matter how many planets there are in a system if the game-play is either boring, or not what one wants.

Evochron is player centric to a degree. Ships spawn in around you to give that 'ambiance' however, I believe police still fight rebels and such, it just happens around you, you wont 'stumble' upon any of it. Ships quite literally jump in on your location. Its really hard to describe. Might give it a try.X3 does have a big, dynamic universe where you will find police fighting xenon and things like that.
