Hey EveryoneI have been following this game for a while and I did already post something on the beta a few weeks ago here: http://www.spacesimcentral.com/beta-news-and-contests-f35/shattered-horizon-beta-t383.htmlBut what makes the game by Futuremark Games Studio interesting for me is the back drop. A huge mining accident happened on the Moon causing significant damage to the moon and now a large debris field is encompassing the Earth. Preventing any rescue for the astronauts on the ISS (International Space Station) and the miners on the Moon and surrounding debris. The video below just shows a news cast of the happenings that setup the game. No gameplay is seen in this video:[gametrailers]http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-2008-shattered-horizon/38528[/gametrailers] Cannot wait to see how Futuremark creates the zero gravity combat and as always I hope to see some great space visuals. Here are some screen shots from Shattered Horizon:[hsimg]http://www.spacesimcentral.com/ssc_gallery/var/resizes/Space-and-Scifi-FPS/Shattered-Horizon/shattered_horizon_ss_01.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg]http://www.spacesimcentral.com/ssc_gallery/var/resizes/Space-and-Scifi-FPS/Shattered-Horizon/shattered_horizon_ss_02.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg]http://www.spacesimcentral.com/ssc_gallery/var/resizes/Space-and-Scifi-FPS/Shattered-Horizon/shattered_horizon_ss_03.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg]http://www.spacesimcentral.com/ssc_gallery/var/resizes/Space-and-Scifi-FPS/Shattered-Horizon/shattered_horizon_ss_04.jpg[/hsimg]So make sure you checkout http://www.shatteredhorizon.com/ for all the latest info on the game and sign-up for the beta while you are there. Maybe if SSC is lucky we might even be able to get an interview or a dev to chat about the game. :)

You have time to wait for this game. It still isn't in Beta yet. Just looks very interesting and cannot wait to see the actual combat and backdrops of the game. I hope the world is somewhat destructible.

I played the beta and it was pretty solid but I have been getting burned out on FPS because I have a ton of them between my PC and PS3. Remember it is a DX10 game so you will need that to play it (so no WinXP), that was even the requirement for the beta. Visuals are solid though.

I thought this was a nice video of Shattered Horizon which is a DX10 only game that is MP only.

I really want to play this, but it doesn't work on Windows XP. I found that out the hard way when they did that free weekend a while back.

That is correct. It is only a DX10 game and you can you have DX10 on MS Vista or Win7 and of course you need to have a gfx card that supports DX10

Looks pretty, but sounds like it's just a shooter right?

This game will not run on WinXp. I have the system specs, but no DX10.

Even though I admire Shattered Horizons for its graphics and wanting to deliver the best visual gameplay for their game, they kinda shot themselves in the foot with not least making the game DX9 compatible. There is still a large portion of gamers still on WinXP and MSoft in its greedy wisdom will not release DX10 for WinXP even though it can run on it :)

Surely someone's modded WinXp with DX10?

Doing some google searches it seems that you can hack it together but good luck getting the accurate info, but if you do I will gladly report it for everyone :)
