Remake or reimage of Robocop going to be a hard act to better than the original. Looking at the trailer why I am thinking Knight Rider :haha:

It certainly looks interesting, but looks very much like more of a (Star Trek reboot style) re-imagining of the basic story than a remake. It certainly looks like it has potential, but the new look for Robocop reminds me more of Daft Punk, although I can see where you saw "Knight Rider". Personally, I'd rather not pre-judge the movie before I get a chance to see it,but they'd better do pretty damn good to avoid severely annoying the legions of people who loved the original movies.

In terms of look they don't seem to moved too far away from the original film, the suit looks almost identical and ED 209 is also present.

Watched this on DVD last night, not as good as the original film and pretty much a standard action film which at times looks like a video game although it does have some big stars in it ie Jackson, Oldman and Keaton and all of them seem to have done it for the pay check. One of the problems with it is that the story echos the original film but lacks any of the strong villains the original had so their are no scheming OCP executives and psychopathic madmen.

Is it actually better than the 4 "straight to TV" movies - where instead of the "proper" Robocop music they had something that wouldn't have sounded out of place in a mexican version of a Western?Regardless, if I see it going cheap on DVD I might grab a copy just to check it out.

Just watched this last night and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I am searching for a word and I want to say it needed to be a bit more gritty in the action. I thought that action sequence with all the robots in that warehouse was so fake. I mean come on in the beginning they show these things accurate as hell and later on Robocop takes on a whole warehouse full of them and barely gets touched.... :)One thing they didn't do was show the 'need' of a robots as police. I mean Detroit looked great and wasn't chaotic at all, no wonder why they didn't want robots patroling the streets.Robocop was an ok movie for its action, but they could have made a great remake like they did with the Dredd movie.
