Hello there, I'd like to introduce myself as the newest member of these forums, and as someone who has searched for somewhere like this for a significant proportion of my space-simming life, I am very impressed. A bit about myself, I am a relative newcomer to the space sim genre, having been born when the genre was well and truly on the way out (very late 90's) and have had to unearth brilliant titles of past years predating myself (FE2, Privateer, etc) and also the rare gems of my lifetime - the X series and Escape Velocity: Nova standing out particularly.I have little to no coding experience, and my typing speed is shoddy at best, however I consider myself to be a master of descriptive writing and I am about to start creating a mod for Pioneer (my newly discovered favourite) with full system descriptions on par with Sol and Epsilon Eridani for all the unique and non - generated systems, and perhaps some of the bright_stars.lua as well. because of this, i will need some help, I have no experience of actually uploading mods or perhaps contributing this to the official release, and I would welcome any ideas for particular systems. TachyonicBow,Signing off.

Welcome to the forums TachyonicBow. I think you may need to be on the deveoper forum here http://pioneerspacesim.net/forum/ for adding anything official to the game, if you ask in the Pioneer forum here http://spacesimcentral.com/ssc/forum/23-pioneer/ they should be able to help you.

Welcome to ssc and there is a pioneer mods area in the download area that when you upload some of your work for all to enjoy. Not sure how much modding you will get done since X-Rebirth is out and you look like a fan of the series

Not sure how much modding you will get done since X-Rebirth is out and you look like a fan of the series :)I took one look at it and turned away, I played so much of TC and a bit of AP, then they destroy the fan base with this farcical rubbish, I'm frankly annoyed, however, what has your experience been with it, out of curiosity?

I have yet to play it yet because of the not so good reviews. I will pick it up because I have all the rest, it just won't be for $50. I will wait a few months for them to patch the heck out of the game and balance it more. I was buying a new PC in the spring/summer that could run this no problem because my existing one may not do it justice, but from what I am hear high end machines are having the most problems. I don't mind cell shaded type graphics, but they should have upped the game at least to support DX10-11, DX9 is very old tech and doesn't take advantages at all of the new high end gfx cards. Thats why Star Citizen looks so freaking awesome is because they are doing it all in DX11 and they are selling a lot of copies and ships even before the game is released, should have been a sign to Egosoft. But with their long development cycle of 7 yrs they had no choice, but nothing stops an expansion to upg the engine to DX11. Now the depth of the X games are very advanced and usually for hardcore gamers, so I have always had the respect for Egosoft by the sheer scope of their games. But to include that and a Mass Effect style gameplay is a tall order and of course improve the combat. In a few months I hope this game is vastly improved because I do want to experience it like I imagined it to be.
