Starship Troopers is really like 50, 60 years old? I cant remember exactly but the book is ancient and part of a much bigger series if i recall, definitely old enough (and good enough) to warrant a remake... but the sequels... oh lord the sequels!!! :-O

The Forever War is an excellent read. Haldeman served in Vietnam as a conscript, and it shows.

The book of Starship Troopers is old, but the film isn't. Interesting bit of trivia - the Starship Troopers novel was used as reference material for the Colonial Marines actors in Aliens (hence the "It's another bug hunt" line in the movie)

Just hope they do the power armor this time and it not a similar design to what has being already done in Avatar or the matrix films. And speaking of the Forever War, wonder what happened to that film version that Scott was supposed to be doing. I just hope they keep the same overall tone of the original movie instead of making it a family friendly movie, I want to see limbs get thorn off, the commander taking out his soldier that is being slaughtered by the bugs ... they did the same to the new robocop movie, they cleaned up the violence that made the movie what it was imo, and don't get me started on that new robocop armour :p … so I'm very scared about the power armour in star ship troopers ...

Hope the new Robocop film not as bad as the TV series was.

stop hoping, it is bad...unbelievably bad, how can you do that to a beloved classic?

Very few remake are as good the originals, seems to be a bit of trend in Hollywood for remakes at the moment.
