Oolite has a new version out which you can find here: http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3577&release_id=16750Here is a recent screenshot I found in their forums:[hsimg]http://www.ixdrive.co.uk/img/19076f51c8ed0d833b86de07fe827452.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg]http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/9279/caddycruise.png[/hsimg][hsimg]http://www.snabbtorkande.com/fotos/Auroraevac.jpg[/hsimg] Here is some of the fixes since the last release:
Quote:
Changes between Oolite 1.73.3 and Oolite 1.73.4:* Fixed nova mission.* Fixed missing planet name in Constrictor Hunt mission.* Fixed bug where subentities of sold ships could come back to haunt your log.* When buying a ship which does not specify a HUD, the default HUD is now used immediately.* Scooping can no longer overfill your cargo bay.* Fixed some cosmetic issues with equipment list UIs.* removeEquipment scripting method now works with damaged equipment.* awardEquipment scripting method now works with EQ_REMOVE_MISSILES.* Fixed spurious OXP verifier warning about display_name key.* Hyperspeed is now turned off when dying.* [Windows] Installer now uninstalls old versions correctly.* [Mac] Fixed an error where random (often very loud) noise could be played through the right channel at the end of long sounds.* [Mac] Game now starts in full-screen mode if it was in full-screen mode when last quit.* [Non-Mac] Fixed a problem with mouse control.* [Non-Mac] Added option to suppress splash screen, which forces the game to run with software rendering on some systems.

if they put an auto pilot in to oolite it would be soooooooooo much better!!!! its too much like hard work lining up with stations and docking by your self! :x new screen shots look awsome tho! gonna down load just to look at the eye candy, doubt ill play it poperly tho due to the auto pilot issue.i can dock! and im quite good at it, it just annoys me, its meant to be in the future surley if they can suss hyperspace travel they could get a flight computer to dock a a blummin ship lol!!

You only have to dock manually for a little while, then you can buy a Docking Computer for something like 1500 CR. :D Not that hard to work towards hmm?

What is this? A mod of another game? I keep seeing the word Oolite and am feeling left out...how old is this game? Will it conform to my lust for eye candy? Or is this another glorified win95 rehash?

It's not really an eye candy. It is an elite remake for windows, they made it so good that it surpassed the original in many ways. And there are many mods to it too.Check this out for more infohttp://www.aegidian.org/bb/

I'm a contributor to the Community. I made several OXP (Oolite Expansion packs) One of them is the Famous planets series that provides textured planets for Galaxy 1. And currently a version for Galaxy 2 is in the making.:A Youtube vid with my own music is here: can watch some new stations and ships with shaders etc in action.

I'm not quite a contributor, but I do my best at the Forum to help Oolite newbs solve any problems they have, and I host the latest installers for all platforms on my website, as well as the all-in-one Griff_Normalmapped_Ships OXP (Oolite eXpansion Pack) which is the set of ships generally regarded as the sexiest currently available for Oolite. Which is not to denigrate the other normalmapped/shaderified ships available, the Neolite ship pack, for example, designed to replace the standard core ships, is also excellent. It should be noted that the Griff_Ships are a work in progress, there are still about 8 ships and some miscellaneous objects to go to complete the core ships set.You can obtain them at my site, Dizzy's Oolite DownloadsHere are some samples of the work done by Griff: And yes, these are all actual in-game screenshots... This really is an awsome game........answer to docking problems just start the game, make a save, come out of game, look on your hard drive for the oolite folder, double click it, find the saves file, double click, inside select the name that you saved under, and double click, right... you should be faced with (what was to me at 1st :o ) a load of code jargon. just look down the list of code until u see a docking computer bit with false in brackets n doofers, just delete false and add true...... and TA DA!!!! when you load up next time and start ur saved game you will magically have the docking computer!!!!Way Hey! not bad eh!!?? you can also add credits by using the same method but be care full if your loaded with cash it kinda spoils the game!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

You have to scroll far far down below the table to 'Eye candy and other m. objects' but here's the direct WIKI page[url]http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Famous_Planets_2.0.OXP[/url] forget to read the .pdf manual which describes the planets in shortI recommend downloading Clymagnus' excellent maps ( you will find them here)[url]http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_planet_list[/url] then immerse yourself in the even more awesome new galaxy guidemain page[url]http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Sector1/Index[/url] of planet Xexedi[url]http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Sector1/Xexedi[/url]
