Looks like Freeworlds: Tides of War mod is progressing nicely, here is the latest video of this mod that is expected to be released near Dec 2009. This is a server based mod and not a SP mod (least to my knowledge). But from this video a lot of work has been done on the models and I think they did a good job on the sound effects as well. It's almost hard to believe that it is still Freelancer. What an achievement and will be worth the wait to play when it is finally completed. That is a great screenshot AcesHigh.

That’s awesome. And really is annoying that it multiplayer only.

Since the release keeps getting pushed back, they have released a combat demo.You can try out all the ships that will be in the mod.
