What did you think of 'V' last night?

Well unless you have been watching Syfy the past few days there might only be a few people that actually remember the original series. I enjoyed the one from the 80's and was joyed to see they were remaking it. The remake which aired last night i thought was pretty good and got you quickly into thinking the aliens are up to something? Now lets see if ABC can do a series right and not have it get canned. But I would say the premier was a positive one.Watch a few minutes here: http://abc.go.com/shows/v

Hi DarkoneI have not seen the remake yet, but I remember the original very well. Michael Ironside stole the show. I was a bit disappointed at the ending though. Maybe they ran out of money? Also loved the music too! I hope the remake can do better.

Well looks like the season is done for V. If I remember right it was only like 4-5 episodes. It definitely seems interesting enough to keep watching but they should have had a bigger cliff hanger personally. If ABC can put some $$$ behind this movie it will be great. I think it really needs a special effects budget. I mean if you have watched battlestar galactica you expect that quality.Any thoughts?

Thoroughly enjoyed it, but I have very low standards. If it's sci-fi I am probably gonna like it no matter what. I was just a little kid when the original series came out and I still remember it vividly. It made a huge impression for whatever reason. I can't believe there were only 4 episodes in this season. :x One thing I noticed, and I wonder if any of you felt the same way...when the mothership appeared in the sky in the original, I thought it looked a whole lot more impressive than when the ship appeared in this version. The mothership in the original was the size of a small city. The new one just under-whelmed. It was obviously much more impressive from the inside though, obviously. Anna is one scary lady.

I have to admit they are progressing the story along a little fast I think but I think they needed to get peoples interest to warrant another season. But they did a good job building up the bad element in the V's. Good show overall and I just hate the fact I have to wait until Mar/Apr for another episode, soon the Fringe will be off for another season too. Life as a SciFi fan :)

I had low expectations for V 2009 because the original mini-series was kind of so-so. I did like the "pet" birds, however. But, man! I was blown away by the new version! Anna is so malevolent, in a sweet kind of way... brrrr!V 2009 was done as a mini-series. Think of it as a four-episode pilot. So you are actually waiting for the beginning of the series, rather than next season.Speaking of pilots, I am looking forward to Caprica, too. It is the prequel to Battlestar Galactica. The pilot explains where the very first Cylon came from... a cross between a teen-age game and a father, grieved by the loss of his daughter, who had more money and talent than common sense.Oh, sure, go ahead and put an experimental AI into the biggest, baddest, battle-droid that you can find (complete with loaded weapons). Don't worry... your prototype won't have any bugs!B

Well that's fair enough, I guess I'll take a 4-part pilot over one. Oh and good call about the birds, almost forgot about that!

I still have to watch like season 3-4 of BSG... But it might make more sense to watch Caprica first and then re-watch BSG. Pet birds... those were those flying things that killed people right? I thought those things were pretty effective. And it also seemed like all the V women looked attractive :)

Caprica is a different timeline than BattleStar Galactica. It doesn't matter much what order you watch them in.

In the original V miniseries, the V's kept little birds -- like parakeet size -- in cages, like house pets. It seemed cute, at first, until you saw one of the V's pop a bird into his/her mouth for a snack! They ate mice, too. The V's are reptilian underneath the human skin, after all.

That's true of both the original and the 2009 series. They explained it this time... it is part of their plan. They figure that they will be more easily liked and welcomed by the humans if they are attractive. That Anna is exceptional at Public Relations, advertising, and image-building.I suppose it helps that they grow human-looking skins on top of their own. If you're going to have an artificial skin, why not make it a popular one?B

I don't know.. I personally think Morena Baccarin looked better when she played Inara Serra in Firefly.

Yeah, the women were attractive on both. Hard to say which I liked more. The one on the original seemed more aggressive and diabolical...this version of Anna (2009) seems more controlled and really gives me the creeps. I wonder if they're gonna eat birds in this one?

Ooooh... mousy!Yumm![hsimg]http://www.wormholeriders.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/V-ABC-Anna-011-576x324.jpg[/hsimg]Anna has always been scary, even as a kid.(she was Claudia Black's evil "daughter", Adria, in Stargate SG-1)[hsimg]http://img.listal.com/image/508325/600full-morena-baccarin.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg]http://file.walagata.com/w/varyar/Morena_Baccarin_5.JPG[/hsimg]

She is playing a good villain in V as the head lizard :) This weeks episode really started to shape the story into the resistance effort (5th column) and suspicions are starting to shape on why the V's are doing what they are doing. I think this is going to be a good season. Only bad thing is that they stuck V in the 10pm time slot and that's never good for ratings.

Oh man I loved her in Stargate SG-1, she was the best/hottest villan ever. That's why I named one my best 3D ships after her, "Morena"

Hope your liking it so far Geraldine. I enjoyed the first season and can't wait for season 2. Right now all I am watching on TV is the Fringe and the show I mentioned here: http://www.spacesimcentral.com/sci-movies-and-television-f8/jeremiah-show-2002-2004-t1268.htmlBut you will like the season conclusion to V and it looks like it is going to get good :) that evil Anna

Sounds good Darkone, but I still miss that original music, here is a trailer for a book by the creator of V, Kenneth Johnstone. It's called " V The Second Generation" and is meant as a follow up to what happened after the story in the original series ended

Well the start of the 2nd season starts tonight so we will now see what type of wraith Anna is going to unleash on Earth. That red sky is a cool effect and interested in what it all means?

I have the admit the red sky really made me wonder what's gonna happen. I hope it's gonna be something really cool but I have the impression somehow nothing that interesting will happen ....
