Looks like the author of Space Merchants is working on a MMO as well using the Space Merchants universe. It looks like SMO is going to support DirectX 9. And will a few professions and you will be able to fight, trade, mine, manufacture and build. There will be two playable races at this point terrestrial and extraterrestrial.There is mention of a open beta coming in January of 2010 so keep an eye out for this one. Hello, I am a team member from Space Merchants Online and I came set right mistake information about open beta information. For Czech and Slovakian speaking players are available closed beta now. Thanks DualHead for the clarification. Looking forward to taking SMO out for a spin, I know it hasn't been talked about yet but what will be the eventual cost for SMO either per month or one time purchase?

Soon as I see Space Merchants Online mature into beta I will create an area just for SMO on SSC for people to discuss the game. Do you know when the FAQ or extra info will be available on the website or if I can do a Q&A with some developers on the SMO project?

I wonder if Space Merchants Online is still on track to have a open beta start in April? I was on there website http://www.space-online.sk and found some pics of the beta phase that is in progress. The game is looking good. Was looking through the FAQ here: http://space-online.sk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=32And it says we might be seeing this real soon... Jun-Aug time frame. From the screenshots it looks great and if I read the FAQ right this will be F2P and in all scene it is a sequel to Space Merchants.Once I have a good time frame for this game going live in English I will make a forum to dedicate to this game as well.
