Vendetta Online is a twitch based MMO set in a fairly large universe. The community while small is very helpful and friendly. The Developers of this game are in constant communication with the community and those communications drive the direction of the games development. Play as a pirate, a trader, miner, Military or go and do your own thing, it's up to you with your choice of missions and community events to engage in.Check it out http://www.vendetta-online.com

I placed this for a few days when they had that 30day free trial at mmorpg.com and a few things I thought were comlicated was just the interface when you were docked. I thought it was sometimes confusing to move around in it.Combat I thought was a bit slower than like Freelancer but it was fun overall. They plan on releasing 2.0 anytime soon?

The great thing about Vendetta Online is that it's always changing. The developers have remained (mostly) the same group of four and they are continually improving the game and putting out new stuff. That's the main reason I've been playing for six years. The combat in VO is also great. The ships are well balanced and the fact that it's a little slower than most FPSs means there is an art to predicting your opponent's movements. The environment fits perfectly, there are a lot of subtle touches like the position of planets and stars in the background.

The game is not the same one year from the next. I will agree with you that the station interface is a handful but that is also always in flux and I'm sure it will be improved upon within the next year. One of the nice things about the game is the PCC (player contribution Corps) which is a group of players that create missions and interface content. There have been a lot of updates to the interface in the last few months thanks to them. Myself and Phaserlight create missions to add substance and content to the game. The beginnings of my mission Tree "The Other side of the universe" just got posted to production last night and Phaserlight has several missions themselves in production. The game is nice because the community drives it and not just some faceless corporation.

Another great thing about VO is the people. Leetspeek is absent from the server, the global chat is relatively clear, and the pirates are all funny to mess with...I'm toast for that last comment, aren't I?

That sounds great actually I didn't know that VO let players help create game content and missions. If the missions get approved to be inserted into the game do the players get any type of game rewards for helping out?Is VO 2.0 coming out this year? I know I remember reading that they would be improving the graphics a bit and of course more content. I thought the intro missions were nice to get you familiar with the game and controls.

Really great community of players and developers! Once I was logged on and a message was sent in gen chat saying server will be shut down for weekly maintenance. I typed NOOO!! in gen chat and the GM replied, "I can put it off for a few minutes if you need." I've NEVER seen that in another game before!
