Good to find a site dedicated to the spacesim scene as I am absolutely clueless on this genre. I played Tie Fighter and a couple of games in the 90's that were pretty arcade as well. Looking for some good tips on entry points into the genre. Also means I'll have an excuse to get a joystick again .

Hi there, welcome to the SSC There are games available that just use the mouse, like Freelancer, or FFE3D, aka Elite 3 (available here in the downloads section). Have fun reading the posts.

Welcome to SSC GeneralArrowAnd thanks for that tip on my registration page being down Yeah even those were the days of glory when Tie Fighter, Privateer, Wing Commander and Elite ruled the the PC times have changed a little and the gfx have gotten a lot better and in most cases you don't even need a joystick any more. There is a lot of games discussed here in the forums and on that links page to keep ya busy a while so dig in and have fun.
