To prevent disappointments:The Trailer Vid is made with a host of OXP's (expansion packs for Oolite). The core game looks a lot more like the original Elite. The beauty of the game is that you basically can modify anything. (almost anything). If you need help then become member of the Oolite Forum. The friendly people there will gladly help you.

There are 250 Planets devided in 8 galaxies. To jump between them you have to buy a galactic hyperdrive. In the vid I am in galaxy 1.

250 planets in 8 galaxies? that's too few even if they were stars. Elite had more than that in one galaxy...

250 in each galaxy. Sorry so 8 x 250 = 2000 planets in total. The same as Oolite. Oolite uses the same planet seed like Elite. If you want to see the planet list then look here:http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_planet_list chose the galaxy you wanna view.

Well it's not 150+ but the above list. I didn't count. But I exaggerated a bit.

An older vid from my Youtube page showing gameplay with the BGS.oxp (Oolite in windowed mode) which gives Oolite a better sound engine, station backgrounds and sounds (engine sound etc). Giving Oolite another feel. Also shown in this vid is Famous Planets.oxp v 2.5 (in the vid it says 2.0. but the most recent version is 2.5.)Also in the system of Resori. I skip some parts.

Nice review and great to see Oolite getting some deserved attention. I have been meaning myself to give Oolite a review it's just finding the time to fit it in.

Oolite is definitely the best Elite remake that I've ever seen. And I'm simply happy, the indie space sim games are still in progress

To keep the game in the spotlightsThe nightly builds (not the test releases) are already on 175.0.3781.These are developer builds (not official supported test versions) But they are always pushing the envelope. You can always find the nightly bulds here: (use at your own risk)Better keep 2 Oolite installs. One for playing and one for testing.Moderators. How about an Oolite space on the forums?Link to nightly builds:http://www.terrastorage.ath.cx/oolite/status_win32.htm to Screenshots thread on the forumhttp://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4494 to the forum in generalhttp://aegidian.org/bb/index.php to Oolite.orghttp://www.oolite.org/ to Oolite Wikihttp://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_Main_Page

Excellent idea Pagroove. I am sure Darkone can make a new section at the SSC for Oolite and thanks for the info too!

I have no problems making forums as long as they get utilized and not abandoned (ahem like the Jumpgate TRI forums). I can make this happen this weekend no problem.
