You might want to look at this thread, we discussed the new Commodore here a bit as well: http://www.spacesimcentral.com/gaming-f20/the-return-the-t881.html

Thanks for that Marcel :) But as Darkone already pointed out, I already had a thread about Commodore USA, but its appreciated anyway. Didn't know about their new A1200-a-like though. :) I see they show in the mockup image the monitor screen seems to be running an Amiga OS, possibly OS 4? I guess the retail for that spec would be around the £800 to £1000 mark, judging prices from the existing Phoenix model. Been thinking about the Phoenix since I first saw it and even emailed them about it. If only I had a spare £1000

I figured you might have known about Commodore, but that Amiga-like thingy just showed up. It sure looks sweet in the render! ;) Looks like it may have the chips to run Pioneer at full detail levels, unlike my current machine. I can't even use shaders on my Radeon 9550. Btw, to make this thread more Pioneer related, does anyone know what the minimum machine requirements are to run it at max? I get about 1 fps. This is a game worth getting a newer machine for, but I don't have a spare thousand either. I've seen some used gamer machines for around $300 that I think might do.

That's a good question Marcel, perhaps some of the forum members could comment, but my guess is Pioneer will fly if you are willing to throw enough kit at it, just like everything else these days. My Pc is 4 years old and pretty crap, so I run everything at medium levels, however once more features are added, eg more ships and starports, improved UIs and whatnot, its system requirements are sure to rise.

Btw, the Phoenix is actually a rebranded Cybernet. I think you can get cheaper here.http://www.cybernetman.com/

Now that is a bit strange. I thought this product was only available from Commodore USA. :? It must be a clone then made under licence or perhaps it's Commodore that is making the Phoenix under licence?

Afaik, the new Commodore was started by a fan who made his fortune importing furniture. He didn't have the rights to the name, but he used it anyway in order to flush out the owners of the trademark. It seems to have worked, as it says on the site that rights to the names Commodore and Amiga have been secured. He's been selling the Phoenix to get the capital to produce the machines he really wants to make. I don't know if this is a tax write off or a hobby for him, but something makes me want one. Btw the silver Phoenix reminds me of my Texas Instruments TI99/4A!

no, i have overseen that toeven if i knew Yikes Station and the sites somewhere in my bookmarksalso noflag was not completely new to meright as i have seen the burning flag, i knew i have seen that beforebut i guess that was in december last year or so and i was more into FFED3D and not interested in "experiments" (sadly).but neither has robin (sharrock, frontierverse) a idea about pioneer (had, now he should).
