Maybe rather a "style sheet" for the entire gui, so you can define the font, text spacing, gui tint and such

Have you tried the X-tended TC mod? It's quite hard compared to vanilla :)

It's a gorgeous little thing. You can download the latest version from http://applesforgeeks.com/space-engine-update-released/ In case you can't navigate the Russian site :)

<r>They are just taking the safest (if unambitious) route but the best thing to do for the X series would have been to put it to rest and start anew without historical baggage. Cramped box sectors, slow speeds, limited view (in vacuum!) and comms distances and a completely uninteresting universe. I ...

It's going to be... more of the same! Looks shiny as ever, but they haven't announced if they will get rid of the static backgrounds or the room-based universe.

Let's discuss the world of Pioneer

<r>Hello Tomm, others,I would like to chat about the Pioneer setting and the rules of the world. It would be good to establish some consistent base rules so as to avoid Making Stuff Up on the Spot later on. I'm not calling out for a detailed backstory here, but interested in these things because ...

Some grayscale noise might be enough to break the evenness... and only visible on low altitudes or you'll start noticing patterns.

<r>I wouldn't be too far fetched that a ship has some sort of "audio simulation" so one does not have to rely on only visual cues. I have to say "O_o" as well, a game with a dynamic campaign on the level of Starshatter ("Falcon 4 in space" is pretty apt) can in no way be described as "on rails".

Very impressive new planet stuff there. Do you think it would be easy to add a detail texture that's visible on low altitudes? That should be a nice increase in planet detail without any additional polygons.
