Hello Space Sim Central

Post by jblpz »

Name's jblpz. Nice place you have here!Always been a fan of space combat / trade games.. My experience includes XBTF (I completed this game in only 400 hours), and the rest of the X series (as far as my PC hardware could handle). I've also enjoyed Elite, FFE, Freelancer, Wing Commander, XvT, Hardwar (this is an awesome game if you haven't tried it), among many others. One game I have always hoped that I would see a modernization of is Noctis. Noctis is a great exploration game - no combat, no trading, just billions (literally) of new systems, planets, and wildlife (yes wildlife) to discover.I've recently had the space-sim itch again which lead me to Vegastrike, Oolite, and now this website. Hoping to make some friends here and get into some excellent space combat and trading yummy goodness.

By the way, I noticed that there isn't a forum dedicated to Space Sim gaming under Linux. I use linux exclusively these days, which kind of limits my options, and limits the number of people I can speak with to share installation and troubleshooting woes. Any other "linux only" gamers like me around?

Hi jblpzWelcome to SSC and hope you enjoy your time here. You have played most of the classic ones there. On the Linux area didn't think it would see much activity but if there is a huge demand for it I will make one. But there is a bunch of different gamers here that have pc's, consoles, macs, linux and netbooks. So there is a good flavor of peoples configs here. What I have been noticing is that more of the indie games being created are taking advantage of multi-platform which is always good.-D1-
