So far I watched the trailer, excellent music. I must check it out.
RE: DarkVerse
Pretty good quality for GM8 game, didn't think that engine could do most of that stuff.Looks like it is going to be remade as well with another engine so we may want to keep an eye out for this one.

This game is amazing. Like Flatspace but so much better. Great graphics, sounds, very functional UI... really impressive.Lots of potential here. Hopefully the project develops into a full game.edit(Oh hey, first post. Hello world. Could have sworn I posted here when I made this account months ago...)

It's cute. And it has so much potential...I can't believe I've wasted half of the morning just to try all the ships. :DAnyways, have there been any announcements on the continued development? From the thread linked it the first post, it seems the author wants to port it to a new engine before developing it any further. I hope he gets a forum or a website up so we can follow the development process.

Really good piece of software! I like the combat its quite adrenalin pumping. I've tried the game maker a few months ago and this engine seems nice for simple project, but i had never the time and motivation to learn how to use this engine. The author of this game did a really good job. But i think if you want a more complex game a "full" engine like UDK, Irrlicht or similar ones are the better choice.

For your browsing pleasure:Irrlicht - http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/ - http://www.udk.com/ is an open-source game development kit (and the german word for a will-o'-the-wisp), while UDK is a free (with some strings attached) version of the Unreal 3 engine.-Blackthorne

Gamemaker is an SDK for those who do not have the time or the commitment, to learn coding using C. But if you want to make something quick, provided it is tile/sprite based and 2d, you can't go wrong with GM. And it is possible to create complex games (there is a GM RPG with nerly 40 hours of gameplay). Games like Starflight, Psi 5 Trading company, or even Star Raiders, can be made using GM.
