A largish hello to everyone on the forum!I'm StarGazer, I'm a Brit, live in rural North Norfolk, and am retired. I've been into Space Sims ever since Elite appeared back in 1984. I played it incessantly on my trusty Spectrum until I made Elite. By then, my eyesight and brain were almost entirely frapped from using the LensLok to get into the game... ...boy was I pleased when I was able to get a floppy disk drive(80k.!!) for the Speccy and dispense with that little horror!I played the Frontier sequel to Elite and Wing Commander on an Amiga in the 90s before turning to the Mac at the turn of the millenium. I enjoyed EV, EV Overide and EV Nova and Vega Strike, but was wowed when I discovered a remake of Elite entitled Oolite, written for the Mac. It was entirely true to original concept but hugely graphically superior. Great fun!So... that's about it... :)...oh, I do have Boot Camp on my main Mac, so I can venture to the dark side to play games not ported to the Mac OS...!

Ooooooppppssss... many apologies LadynightShade!! First post ammended. :oops: Thanks for the welcome! Good to find ladies enjoying space sims. We did have the pleasure of one lady in the alliance I played with in AstroWars, but they tend to be pretty thin on the ground. Most scowl at the mention of SciFi. My latterday girl friend treats it with complete contempt, which is piss poor for an English teacher...P.S.I am an ex-east ender, but I fled from London 30 years ago!P.P.S.Ah hah... I see you are a RPG fan - I've just acquired Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 complete. Never got around to playing them first time round, so I am really looking forward to that!

Hi StarGazerWelcome to the SSC :) There is quite a few RPG fans on here and you have two of the best ever made right there. I am also playing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on the old X Box. Have fun reading the posts and dont forget to checkout the download area too ;)
