I remember that for GLFFE (a modded version of Frontier First Encounters) a fan once made a small program that listed all the starsystems in the Elite Universe. It also had a search function. I can't remember the name of that little program and I don't know if the starsystems in Pioneer have the exact same names and locations so the program might be useless anyway. When I get home from work, I'll take a look and on my harddrive to see if I still have it and if it works for Pioneer ;) .

I believe your referring to FFEStarsys.exe which used the reverse engineered code of FFE.Its not ever going to work with Pioneer as the code is totally different and written from scratch.Im sure eventually there will be a simple search function in the game however.Anyway the co-ordniates system should help you find the systems your looking for.

Maybe, but that name doesn't ring a bell. I believe it was a small standalone program which worked outside of the game. I'm not sure it really needed Frontier to work so I thought it may have been useful. But if it's really that program and if it's written to work specifically with GLFFE, then it's useless. I can't find it anyway so it's useless both ways :D .

While you are correct in saying that the galaxy is ever changing :) A Program like FFEStarsys would use the same galaxy code so it would change with it. However, we first need a prog like this for Pioneer :)

Yeah, that's it! You're right. It's been years since I've used this handy little program. I just downloaded and tried it. You can start the program and explore the starchart but the stars in FFE and Pioneer are not in the same place so it's indeed useless. It's been a while since I've played FFE and thought the starmap in that game is the same as in Pioneer but it's not ;) .

i guess once the star generation code is settled such a program unless someone finds a way to put a search pattern ingame should work well
