Technical help needed for downloading

Ok so another I need help thread by me appologies again in advance.....My pc has a tendency to crash quite regularly.......but here is my problem, I'm trying to download a few things online that are quite bit and when my pc crashes I have to start from scratch. I was wondering is there a download program you can use that will make it so the download will auto pick up from when the computer crashed or am I just going have to keep trying till my PC decides to behaive itself?Any help is greatly appreciated.

I know this is going be a dumb question but what is it? I mean what does it do? I'm in middle of downloading it now
