space exploration game wanted
Hello to everyone here.I would like to get some recommendations for a space sim that has these characteristics:1) primarily a sim that emphasizes space exploration (in contrast to economics and warfare)2) has a lot of worlds to explore. Something in excess of a thousand worlds. Now, I have played Noctis IV so you don't have to recommend that. A top-down view type game would be perfectly acceptable too.Thanks.

Thank you DarkOne and PINBACK.Space Engine looks particularly awesome. Unfortunately my notebook computer does not have the required graphics capability. *dreaming of buying a true gaming pc*

You may also try Pioneer. As far as i know you will not encounter any combat in the actual build of the game if you don't want to. Orbiter is also a non-combat, non-trade game but learning to fly the spacecrafts can take some time.

How about Shores of Hazeron? You can play as explorer... if you don't mind that your helmsman sundives every other star you come across...^^

Hi RotationVector, you might want to take a look on "Serpens Sector":http://www.metalbeetle.com/spaceexploration/ did not try it myself yet but it looks like an interesting space exploration and research game. It is Java-based and seems not to need a powerful graphics card.RegardsSpaceRider

Now is the time. Its development is advanced enough to give you a good handle on the game, but not so advanced that we can't take ideas on board. It's good. I'm proud to be on board.
