legend of grimrock
This Dungeon Mater style remake look like it might be worth a punt. Bit of a shame it will be download only.Web sitehttp://www.grimrock.net/
RE: legend of grimrock
Legend of Grimrock can be pre ordered on GOGhttp://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/legend_of_grimrock
RE: legend of grimrock
I know this is the SSC and space sims are great, but buying this is a no brainer for an old school RPG fan like me.
They should have called it Dungeon Master 3 though, because that is what it really is
Off to GOG now to hit that pre-order button. I wonder if it will have the +10 Plasma Accelerator Of Smiting in the game
RE: legend of grimrock
Pinback you must have been reading my mind because I was going to post something on this game this week sometime because I thought people should know about this one. I have been watching this game for months and I cannot wait to pick this up. I remember playing Bards Tale and the Dungeon Master games and Stonekeep. LoG looks so good, and its the small details that do it with the great snd effects, customizations, stats, crafting and of course the puzzles. No mention of modding but they did say the would put out more dungeons depending on how LoG does. Just reading over their blog posts about the updates to the game you can tell they are obsessive about the quality and having it just right. So I think we will get some good support from these guys.

RE: legend of grimrock
Already pre-ordered it
!!!! Now I will have to wait until April 11.
RE: legend of grimrock
Sadly I won’t be able to get a copy unless there a physical release at some point.
It’s definitely a game I would like to play as I spent some time with Eye Of The Beholder and the Isher games back in the 90s Thinking about it I have not played any D&D type adventure games in a while, last one I tried was Oblivion but just never took to it.
RE: legend of grimrock
This probably won't be a huge download in size Pinback and if you need me to download something and send it to ya just let me know.

That goes for me too Pinback. Let us know if your stuck because I think this will be one of the games of the year. Every site I visited today had some thread about it and some of them were not even gamers sites!
RE: legend of grimrock
Cheers for the offer D1and Geraldine.
I should be able to get one of my relatives to do it. Hopefully we might see a box release of this if it proves popular enough.
RE: legend of grimrock
Picked up my copy last night and should be able to play sometime today.

Or you can buy the GoG.com version (DRM Free).
RE: legend of grimrock
I've got through the first few levels, yes this game is great!
Its just like when I first fired up Dungeon Master on the Miggy back in the 80s except for the graphics. There was no need to change the game mechanic too much from the original as it was near perfect to begin with. All I need now is for Sid Meier to finish his X Com game re-make and that should be my gaming done for this year :)Oh, by the way, the update to Witcher II is out now as well
RE: legend of grimrock
Just in case you have been wondering what the Devs are up to, they are working on a Dungeon Editor and after watching this video this thing is amazing and is going to give this game HUGE replay value.
RE: legend of grimrock
Yep, I too have been watching the development of the editor over at the Grimrock forums. This game's future is now secure. I expect there will be map conversions of The Eye Of a Beholder series, Blackcrypt and (of course) the Dungeon Master Games in times to come. Would be great if they could bring back the original enemies in new high res. Imagine fighting Chaos using the Grimrock engine! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//nyam.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nyam:' />Oh, and Pinback? Did you ever get the game?Just in case someone doesn't know, there was an all-in-one package of the Dungeon Master games. These are faithful re-makes of the original DM1, Chaos Strikes Back, and DMII. They run just fine on Windows 7, here is a link http://www.ragingmole.com/RTC/

No still hoping for a boxed version of the game.
RE: legend of grimrock
Just adding the ability for importing images would be good, but you would need to make them 3D to make them look good in the game since all the monsters in LoG all have animations. The game is only 500mb and its DRM free so just burn it to a disc.
RE: legend of grimrock
GOG are offering Legend Of Grimrock for $7.49 for the next 48 hourshttp://www.gog.com/n...end_of_grimrock
RE: legend of grimrock
Wow that is a great deal.
RE: legend of grimrock
Look like their will be a sequel http://www.grimrock.net/2013/02/21/about-the-new-project/ Secondly, and this is a biggie (probably more to ourselves than you!), we are now officially working on… Legend of Grimrock 2! Creating a mere DLC or expansion to Grimrock simply would not have felt right. As today’s meeting proved, we still have a lot of ideas we’d like to explore, lots and lots of new content already done (originally made for a DLC/expansion) and a big engine update in the works. Simply put, a DLC would have limited too much what we can do. With a full blown sequel we can raise Grimrock to the next level.
