I purchased SotS Collection the other day for $5 on Steam so I want to get around to playing that before I attempt the 2nd. I am in agreement with you on N* I hope we will be playing that next year at this time.

Was excited for this game to come out, but glad I didn't buy it right away. Game released in a beta version, updated to another beta version so you can imagine the backlash the creators are getting. Once this game has been patched up to date and such I'll definitely be buying though.

Thanks for the update Kaesho.Sad to hear that they screw up the release of the game, but it seems to be the norm with a lot of the digital releases nowdays.I take it that the physical disk version has not been affected in the same way. :?:

This is a small set back for Kerberos since more reviews and notices like this are going to popup and the ratings on the digital media stores will be low because of the first impressions and looking into this is that there will be several patches over the next few days/weeks to address all issues. Personally they should have held it a month until they flushed everything out. Because all of this bad press in the end effect the bottomline of Kerberos. So I guess it is wait until mid Nov to purchase after a few patch updates. On the boxed version, I guess it depends on the version that comes up when you play it? But people are saying they are having playability issues with the latest download version so I would expect the boxed version to be the same. If anyone has the boxed copy would be nice to here there feedback.

I'm pretty sure the boxed version is the same. They released the game unfinished because they ran out of money to develop it more, there is no other version other than this one sadly. As it is, I don't recommend it to anyone. This isn't even beta or even alpha quality, I've never seen a game in such a disastrous state at release. It's completely broken, crash happy, runs slow as hell and blatantly lacks many features. You can't even access the options menu for gods sake. In addition they made the interface even more complicated and messed with some aspects of the game I didn't like though the menus and overall game looks prettier. Still, a huge, huge disappointment. I'll be trying to get a refund though I'm not too hopeful.

Look like you might get a refund as Kerberos has released this statement.http://www.kerberos-productions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=22033Remember the same thing going on with X3 a few years ago with the game being unfinished but was still rushed out for the Christmas market.Developer and publisher never learn, would it have killed them to delay the game for another month after all this sort of game is only going to appeal to a minority group of players and by doing this they only alienate their customers.

I have chatted with Mecron a few times in PM and a good guy. I'm actually glad he stated the facts and outcome the way he did and not sugar coated anything. This will earn some respect points back with the community and with saying the intent is to patch the game as much as needed to get the game straight should calm the storm that was raised. Only thing that will hurt now is just the reviewers and the comments from buyers on all the digital download sites.

I don't own this game yet but they Kerberos has been putting out some DLC and patches as of late.

No. Windows Vista and above only. This is mainly because of it using DirectX10, WinXP doesn't support this at all.

Playable now. Still not fully fixed (in fact, there's a glithc where turn processing cna take a while, but the hotfix is coming), but getting there. And it's marvelous. The pace is slower mind you and I do stress that it still needs polishing. I predict maaybe a month more before it's fully polished.

Sorry for the long wait but I am extremely happy and proud to give the all clear signal and invite you all back to a bright and shiny SotS2. While “all clear” in no way means support for the game has ended or that we have no plans for additions, it does mean that the game is in the shape we would have wished it to be upon release. From here we will be going on to a regularly scheduled set of updates that continue to fill out and flesh out the SotS2 universe as well as adding new maps, scenarios and plenty of quality of life suggestions.

I always liked Sots][. It's something new and not just more of the same.
