About Oolite
About Oolite
First things first, the blurb:Oolite is a space combat/trading game, inspired by Elite, powered by Objective-C and OpenGL, and designed as a small game that is easy for users to pick up, modify and expand upon. Almost every aspect of the game can be changed by using simple, free graphics packages and text editors.Originally written for Mac OS X, and under continuous development for over seven years, Oolite is available for Mac OS X (10.3.9 and higher) and PCs running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Linux. It requires at least a 400 MHz processor, 256 MiB of memory, and a graphics card capable of accelerating OpenGL graphics. The game and source code are offered for free under the GNU General Public License.

Thank you for opening Cody!

Second, how could I resist posting an in-game pic... this is a Coriolis station modded by Griff:
RE: About Oolite
I'm typing an Oolite resources post as we speak. Is that all right?
RE: About Oolite
There is some really good artists making models for Oolite because they look great and they stick to the origins of elite and not really changing the feel just brushing it up. And feel free to post/re-post anything you want here because this area is meant for all Oolite info so post away.
RE: About Oolite
Oolite 1.76 was released this Friday evening (Zulu time)... this is a major milestone for the devs, and I applaud them.
RE: About Oolite
Hey that's great news Cody!
Hope my saved games and favorite OXPs still work with this new release.

Savegames will be no problem at all. The odd OXP may have some troubles, but most will be fine.I've been running the 1.76 beta for some weeks, and I've had no problems with my 'hot set' of OXPs.
RE: About Oolite
Anyone know how to put some deadzone on controller sticks? Am using a xbox 360 controller with "xbox360 wireless receiver for windows".
RE: About Oolite
I've posted your query on the Oolite forum, Overlord. I'll report back if there are any suggestions.

Well with Pioneer and Oolite what else do you need? One hardcore space sim and one badass space game!Cody, thanks for putting my question on the Oolite forum, guess I coulda gone there myself..
RE: About Oolite
An oolite (oh-oh-lite) is indeed a rock of some sort. Oolite comes from 'Object Oriented Elite' (or maybe because it's powered by Objective-C and OpenGL)!
