<blows dust off the thread> Interstellar space, just after I'd fragged eight or nine Thargoid warships (the white scanner traces are inert drones): But within a minute another two warships appeared. It was time to get the hell out of Dodge before the drones re-activated: And this is a close-up of one of those damn warships (now the core shipset, not OXP): I limped back into normal space, heavily damaged - and that was in my toughened Cobra III.

My word Cody, that looked like an epic battle!Aye, it was that! Well over half an hour of intense combat, and I was shaking by the end of it!

What OXPs should we use, to get these results?

What OXPs should we use, to get these results? You can't... this is the experimental Dev build, and no OXPs are involved (apart from eye-candy/hud). This will eventually become part of Oolite 1.8 (the next stable build)... but not for a while yet. You can have Thargoid warships that look like that (slightly better, in fact) now though - see this page. Then you could venture into interstellar space, but you'll not find nearly so many warships - but don't get stuck there.

So, to sum this up, Griff's shipset is included built-in from the next versions onward, replacing the vanilla models? I am confused.

From Oolite 1.8 onwards, a shaderless version of Griff's shipset (including stations and hermits) will become the vanilla shipset. It's mostly the work of CaptSolo, who created the unshadered set from Griff's originals - and they look pretty good too.

Good lord Cody. That was some battle. I'm happy to share some screenshots out to the Development version 1.79 (which leads eventually to 1.8 like Cody mentioned) in combination with Wildebloods' Distant Suns Galaxy 108.oxp which you can find here: http://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12986 I can really recommend this oxp especially in combination with Zugouyo's cinematic skies. Now to the screens: Flying in a system with a hot A-class star: A navy cruiser out of the GalNavy additions oxp: can be found here: http://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14100 Mclass star. A G-type star. Like our sun.

Cool pics, Pag! I'm still using Kaks' Farsun OXP - those above are a bit too colourful for me.As I recall, it does other stuff too that I'm not keen on - like renaming stars or something, yes?

Yes. For me that is terrific. I like the renaming too. And I like the colors + corona modification. At a planet with heavy solar activity in the description you'll see a large corona.

I like Deep Purple! Speed King - from the album Deep Purple in Rock, which was the best line-up, and had the classic Child in Time on it.Factoid: Child in Time was loosely based upon elements of this track, which the band had been listening to, I presume.
