it's me DoctorRoXo

Post by DoctorRoXo »

hello fellow spacers...been subscribing to the SSC rss feed for a while and decided to join the community. never been to the forum so i'm really new :) I've not been a pc gamer for very long. mostly gamed on consoles till i upgraded my pc with some new gear. now i don't touch my consoles hardly :D Been gaming for 25 years or so, i'll be 30 soon and this has been my biggest hobby and my passion for as long as i can remember. i haven't actually been playing space games for that long. i did have a pc when i was young but mostly played sierra adventure games and point & click's. unless Space Quest counts...Really looking forward to many of the space sims coming out this year. I prefer the space trading aspect of these games to the combat and enjoy mining very much also.In my spare time when i'm not gaming I have a steam group that tracks indie bundles and a desura group that tracks any kind of deals/sales, where we also inform each other of games we like.Looking forward to contributing to this community and becoming a part of it...

I just want the consoles (mainly the PS3) to just have space games period. I am really hoping that Dust 514 and the connection to EVE Online really is successful because CCP could really help the genre on the console if successful.

There is soooo many games coming it is crazy and there is projects we find out about almost weekly, just like Heliosphere that was posted about yesterday, some great stuff there. Have a fun time at SSC and all I ask is that you clean up after yourself and don't abuse the droids :)

i have a ps3, 360, and a dreamcast and there's more space sims on the dreamcast prob than the other 2 combined. the only one i know of is Darkstar One for 360. and i'm also looking forward to Dust 514. i'm new to Eve so i have lots to learn but when 514 comes out, i was planning on hiring myself to do jobs :D there's some decent space games on dreamcast actually. theres a passable version of Starlancer, and Armada not bad. there's a few indie and arcade games on xbox live. there's Space Pirates From Tomorrow(costs $1 i think) and Flotilla, Final Rift. not sure if there are any others. I have heard of Heliosphere somewhere. maybe it was here this morning but i remember that name( how could you not). yes there are just so many good ones coming out it's almost hard to choose from, best problem i've had in years... I really am looking forward to Salvation Prophecy, Miner Wars 2081, and the hd remake of Space Rangers. So many others also it's hard to remember them all. thank God for bookmarks, right?

nice! yes it could use some updates but it's very useful. few i didn't see on there: Beyond Beyaan, iTerraform & Pytheas(both Minecraft like space sims). check out indieDB sometime and you'll see more than your bookmark folder can hold.
