How do I load my previous game after upgrade?

Hello all, so glad you guys are here to help. I'm running Pioneer 17 but I would like to upgrade however, if I install the latest version I am unable to load my previous game files. Can anyone help or advise?Kind regards,Mike.

You can't. Currently the code is changing too fast for us to be able to preserve save compatibility across alpha releases.

As RobN said, you cannot do it currently.However! You can do cheat to give you most of what you'd already acquired.You can press "Ctrl + m" to give yourself money, then just buy back the ship + equipment + cargo that you had in the Alpha 17 version.It is cheating, but used responsibly you can carry on most of your game. If there's anything in particular that you would lose then tell us and it might be something you can get back using the drop down command terminal that's in the newer versions.

sorry slight misunderstanding, i have posted something useless, i assumed you played since alpha22 pioneer, i've read to late that it was a jump from 17 to 22.yeah, i thought already uncommon, adding should be no problem.anyway, removing ships can probably prevent from loading to.now i can concetrate on the defender, that's fine...
