Wasn't exactly the announcement I was hoping for but it doesn't look bad <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_biggrin.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

If I had any spare cash, I'd be in on that for £150 - oh yes indeed!

I wonder how much Star Citizen kickstarter had to play in this kickstarter for Elite Dangerous happening? Seems odd that both release time tables are close to each other and feature sets are somewhat close. I think it came down to money and seeing that people will throw money at a game/developer for a good game. Would have liked to see a screenshot at least <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />I will get this kickstarter added to the mainpage.

Oh come on....Now? Really? I just spent a shitload on Star Citizen and I plan to play it. And now Mr. Braben got the idea to finally jump on the space opera train again?Well... I will now read through the Kickstarter page and will then decide if I pledge more than 30£.Ok, 40£ pledged. Having my name in that game is something I cannot resist. 2013 will be a terrible long year.

This news is most pleasant indeed. I wonder if Pinback has changed his pantaloons yet? <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' /> And yes my £40 is in there too! Roll on 2014!Psst, its not looking like it has a Newtonian flight model though <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//slow_en.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':slow:' />

They already made their first 10% within the first day (couple of hours).Good start, I guess they will reach more than 2.000.000£ in the end.

I just spurted..... 75 quid in old Brabby's direction!! Although I want FE2/FFE ship handling as an option - I love me how the ships fly in those two games (and of course Pioneer & Evochron you know I love you guys too!)

This was the line that caught my eye - David Braben talking about Frontier:
Quote:
I loved the richness of the galaxy, but with the benefit of hindsight I think the way the ships flew detracted from the joyous immediacy of those in “Elite”

Yes I saw that Cody. I do hope he gives the player options on how to control the spacecraft in the game. Certainly the original turn and roll should be there, it's canon after all, a simplified mode for new folks (just like a whole load of other space sims) and Newtonian for knackered old Frontier vets like me <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />It would be interesting to see how the differing flightmodels perform against each other in combat

Pantaloons changed <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//laugh1.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> , look like I will have to change the release date from never to Mach 2014 <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.Definitely think Star Citizen has played a big part in there discission to go with it.

It's an impressive amount, given that the Kickstarter page has no video or screen shots of the game.

According to the FAQ, it will have a 'Newtonian' flight model - you can do your celebratory dance now!

Actually it will have "flight aids" in the form of fly by wire. I am a little dubious about this, I hope I can shut them all off and go old skool <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

Have they said there will be seamless planet landings?.Looks like this might put some more nails in Infinity coffin.
