If they are lucky they might just make it ... IF.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
Well they finally made it over the million mark and have 7 days left to get the other £250,000 or so. Last part of the interview from a couple of days ago When are we going to see more of the game?. they also a have stretch goal. Over the duration of the project we've received many requests for a Mac version of the game. We are announcing an official stretch goal for the project. If we reach £1.4 million in funding through the Kickstarter project, we will release a Mac version of the game around 3 months after the initial Windows PC release.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
I doubled my pledge, every drop counts it seems.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
/start of personal rantInteresting. I currently have no doubts that it will be my most expensive game ever, by a long shot. Specially taking into consideration the amount of money spent on the books - I expect to have backed 6 successfully at the end (from the 9 or so) by the end of it.But after waiting so many years for Elite.../end of personal rantThe KS target looks achievable, although end of the year/new year may complicate things. At least one of the days ahead will be "dead". Last days growth was healthy - mainly fueled by newcomers and lower tiers than the big tiers that had been the drive in the pre Xmas days. Some weird things remain - I simply don't understand why would anyone pick the £15 pledge level - for 5 more and you actually get the game. Maybe due to the poor wording of the £20 level?
RE: Elite: Dangerous
Joint tie for the most expensive game I have bought. Another vid of DB talking to camera about mining and trading, can't help but think it would be better if he just did some narration over some game footage. Another concept pic 5 days still to go.

There's going to be a Q&A on Redit to start on the 3rd but looks like it,s already going.

RE: Elite: Dangerous
Man I'd love to pledge, but this Christmas has sucked my dry on disposable cash. I'd have to give up the food for several days or not pay a couple of bills or something. Perhaps I was too generous with the presents.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
About 9% more to fund in four days, I think this will make the goal. Maybe more with that MAC stretch goal added. But holiday concerns might slow this down a bit come tomorrow. And then the normal work week starts for most people and that could be an issue. But I think that the waiting is over and it will be funded.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
Its managed a good momentum since just before Christmas which seems to have saved it. Also today was a good day with a lot of lurkers jumping in. I think the non stop spamming from many of the supporters has subliminally got to a lot of people. The people jumping in also seem to have been very generous. I've seen quite a few jumping in at the £150 mark. There are benefits to appealing to the middle aged!
RE: Elite: Dangerous
Biggest surprised is the game has not attracted the same support that Star Citizen received.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
On the kickstarter side, both will have received ~2 million dollars US. But yes, Star Citizen raised alot of money on their own as well.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
IIRC did not Star Citizen smash it's goal well before the end of the Kickstarter.

RE: Elite: Dangerous
SC got better campaign, with cool video on start, frequent updates and it was ealier, so they sucked lot of money out of the market before X-Mas.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
vid update now this is the sort of vid they should have shown earlier.

Kickstarter is still pretty much an american/new world concept. Elite is not as well known in the US as in Europe and the project comunication was certainly not as good as SC one. For example, I think it is far from evident to a casual visitor that by supporting the KS he/she will exclusive access to the founder's system - something that who buys at launch will not be able to do. Compare that to SC who made the lifetime insurance of ships bought on funding stage quit clear. Also, that £20 tier was not that helpful - but this on hindsight is easier to say. But hopefully it will succeed to become a terrific game.
RE: Elite: Dangerous
Going well at the moment so fingers crossed
RE: Elite: Dangerous
It's in the bag
