Help - SPG Game crashes on new laptop

you wouldnt know how to sort my problem would you? starpoint just crashes everytime i try to open it :( i just got a new laptop with better hardware on but it just keeps crashing :( it worked fine on my old dell please help!!! i love this game!!

Hi Humper92 I take it that your SPG install is updated to latest version 1.0.1.2? What OS are you running on? I know I use Win7 x64 and it runs fine with no crashes. What resolution and graphics card drivers are you using (are they the latest)? Because if it ran fine on your previous machine and crash on the new one then this is probably a hardware or driver issue.

It's something we usually try as the first step:Download and install the latest DirectX from Microsoft website. Especially if you're running the game on Win7 Home edition as some versions of Win7 don't come with a complete set of DX required by SPG to run properly. If it doesn't help, please contact me directly on dorijan@starpointgemini.com and we'll continue from there.

There is one thing you can try. It's something we usually try as the first step:Download and install the latest DirectX from Microsoft website. Especially if you're running the game on Win7 Home edition as some versions of Win7 don't come with a complete set of DX required by SPG to run properly. If it doesn't help, please contact me directly on dorijan@starpointgemini.com and we'll continue from there.Though I have already mentioned it the bug forum, perhaps it is an issue with Windows 8?

Could you please contact me directly on dorijan@starpointgemini.com . And please attach your ActivityRecord.txt . Perhaps it won't give the ultimate answer, but it can't hurt either ;). Thanks!
