Trial Mod hosting on Sourceforge
I had a play this morning (instead of working..sorry boss) in getting a mods for Pioneer page on sourceforge up and running. So far I have uploaded. ShipsVuzz's collection of 70 ish Ships - ships-all_in_1-vuzz-A30-vuzz-V1.4 Buildings and StationsVuzz's collection of stations and buildings - Stations-buildings+stations-vuzz-A30-vuzz-V1.5 MiscMarcel's home town - systems-hometowns-marcel-A30-marcel-V1baobobafet's ship decals - ship-decals256x256-bao-A30-bao-V3Shadma's heightmap for Mars-Systems-MarsHeightMap-shadmar-A30-walterar-V1 The above mods can all be found here:https://sourceforge.net/projects/modsforpioneer/files/?source=navbar Devs - I am a novice on this type of thing, if you happen to have a look at the project on Sourceforge and would like / need me to change any details on there please let me know. I have also placed a default Read Me.txt that walterar created and modified it a bit. Ideally any mod uploaded or submitted should have this read me completed and included in the .zip If you, the modders, would like your mod adding to the existing archive, please post a link here along with a completed read me and I'll upload it to sourceforge so all the mods are in one place. I will also be uploading anything that is listed on the wiki and anything I have on my hard drive so we have a mirror So if you have a link on the wiki page then there is no need to post here.

Let the modders at liberty to choose the best way to promote your mods, and where.
RE: Trial Mod hosting on Sourceforge
I have checked that many people do not know how to install mods. I think we should focus on this point.

Let the modders at liberty to choose the best way to promote your mods, and where.the problem with this is that they mods end up all over the forum and get buried in discussion and conversation. This is why they should be listed on the wiki and mirrored on sourceforge. Not everybody wants to spend hours looking through 40 pages of a thread.... we are already on post 13 here and there are no other mods listed in it.

I said 10 years, not eight weeks, I? Congratulations, Dad! :preved:

Cheers. I'll write some clear instructions then and even post some pics of the directory structure. I can only do that for windows though. You have a mac yes? can you do me a screenshot of the directory structure and email it to me?
RE: Trial Mod hosting on Sourceforge
My primary OS is Ubuntu64 12.04 (linux). Gernot uses Mac. But I think the biggest problem with Windows users. Anyway you can find it in the wiki http://pioneerwiki.com/wiki/Mods "'~/Library/Application Support/Pioneer' for OSX)."

RE: Trial Mod hosting on Sourceforge
Vuzz, I put most of the mods up there myself when the new mod system was introduced back at Alpha 24. I spent a lot of time making other peoples models like gernots ships in to the mod format and uploaded them into SSC as it was the only place at the time I could think of. SSC is fine to store the mods but you do have to look for it and you do have to maintain the links. With the mods on source forge you don't need to. But i say, no one can force you to do anything, all I am saying is that I will be mirroring as many mods as possible at sourceforge for achiving and alternate access should any other links go down. I may even start following my own advice and dabble in converting some models into the new modelling system as a learning exercise due to the post from Fluffy made it seem fairly straight forward.
