Please can anyone direct me to new ship models?

The problem is not the machine (os) the problem is the system : Genesia is totaly under LMR , alls models , scripts , scout missions add on , etc are for the old alpha 31 version ( before the deleting of lmr models) . So genesia can't work with recent pioneer version engine . i'm under window Vista but don't think what the OS have to do here ...

Mike, just to be clear, Genesia is a version of Pioneer. It's the last one before the LMR models were removed, so it doesn't have the latest graphics, like moons casting shadows on planets. You can have both 'installed' on your hard drive, but because all versions use the same model_cache and mods folders you have to empty those before you run it. Genesia has all the mods you may want already installed, including Scout+, so running mods like that with Genesia will probably cause errors. If your computer runs Pioneer then it should be able to run Genesia. Walter, if you can make Genesia compatible with the latest version of Pioneer that would be awesome! :biggrin:

@mhollow2You can try also delete config.ini, then run Genesia.config.ini is shared by Pioneer and Genesia, it may cause some problems.

The solution is that Genesia generate their own user data directory.I compiled new executables for Genesia with the solution.The new executable creates a new user data directory named Pioneergen.Now can run both simultaneously.Just download the new files of Genesia from here and replace the olds. Only 32MB

Tourist, Shadmar has many creations that could be incorporated into Genesia (and Pioneer). But I would have to study it and would not have time to continue with Scout+, which is what I really enjoy doing. Maybe we can ask the author to help us with an patch, for it would be easier. Geraldine, Of course you can. :scout:

Hem,I think Shadmar is too busy for the moment on Paragon ( and these project is more important than Genesia who's just a sort of archive afterall ).

I'm not sure what this means or how to get Genesia working!Best wishes,Mike.No you haven't Mike, thanks to your question Walterar made a new executable for Genesia that will allow it to run even with Pioneer (with Scout Plus) installed already. All you have to do is hit download the link in Walterar kindly provided, unzip it then copy and replace everything in the Genesia folder. That should finally allow you to try it out. :girlsmile: When I get a chance, I will upload Walterar's Genesia fix tomorrow to the SSC.

Yes please! :girlcrazy: But, perhaps it might be best to upload a patch of just the updates. It took me ages to upload the main build, no need to upload everything again unless you need to. OK. I believe I did the correct thing and replaced the four files in the Genesia folder (in Genesia folder) with the ones provided by Walterar. Unfortunately this didn't work on my system, I still get the same message. Maybe i'm doing something wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time lol. Mike.

Then I realized you must mean the outer Genesia folder, but that didn't work either. Best wishes, Mike.

Ok I found an old post of mine with a link toMicrosoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)Some had difficulty in the past trying to run Pioneer without this installed in their Windows machines. Try this Mike and let us know if that helps. Do remember and read the install instructions first though on the web page.
