Flashback remake

Post by Pinback »

Flashback has been remade, played this on the Amiga many moons ago and remember that it was very hard and in fact I don't think I go much past the first couple of levels. So far this remake is only out on the 360 and PS3 think their is a PC version.

That was originally from a French dev Delphine Software wasn't it? Looks good. I wonder if anyone will pick up the Ishar and Robinson's Requiem series for a re-make. I think those were from a dev called Silmaris that was French too.

This remake is done by the same guy who did the original game  Godfather in space was the original idea they pitched. Still not seen anything about a PC release. I think Robinson's Requiem would work a lot better today than it did 19 years ago, don't think their have been any games made like it. A very unique idea for a game.

Now that's how you do a re-make! :girlcrazy: They stuck to the originals gameplay and gave the graphics a kick into the 21st century. I never did complete it on the Amiga, maybe it might be time to try again.

I cannot remember which platform I played this on but it was either the Amiga or Sega and I was hooked and I played this game many hours straight for a few days until I beat it the story was great and the gfx were just great for the time period. Looking at this new remake and it looks good, but I would hope they can capture that story and the urgency to get that memory back to make you keep playing to move further in the game :)

Big surprise for me was reading that the game was originally developed for the Mega Drive/ Genesis, I always assumed it was done on the Amiga first.

Games out on PC, should be on Steam, apparently it's not been too well received on the Consoles but their is a demo so you can make your own minds up about it.

It's tough making remakes of classics because people have high hopes and look for more depth and polish with today's tech it's kind of expected. I will be looking for it on steam to see what people think.
