Need your help remembering the name of a game

Hello all, Recently I've been trying to find the name of a space combat sim I remember playing back when I was in junior high, in the mid 90s. This would have likely been a DOS/Win 3.1 game. It took place on a grid, and I seem to remember the background being red. You controlled a spaceship, and fought other spaceships on the grid. I seem to remember you set your velocity and angle and that's how you moved, but I could be wrong in this. And it was a combat game, you fought other spaceships that were on the grid, I believe by shooting lasers and maybe photons? I've had little luck googling the games components that I remember, so I thought I'd try you guys. Thanks for all the help! boice818

No idea what it could be but it sounds like some sort of Star Control clone if it was 2D.

Glad you found what your looking for boice818 and well done fadrad for tracking it down. I wonder if the dev would mind if it was added to the SSC archive? Also, perhaps you might like to do a review of the game boice818? Show us all what it is about?

YES it was exactly that WINTREK game !thanks for the link unfortunately that Wintrek doesnt run on win7 x64 and those Wintrek enhanced downloadmirrors on sourceforge are not working - if anyone got them could you please post a working link here ?

I had a look at the enhanced version. That seems to work fine on my Win 7 PC. Got it from here.
