Things related to Scout+
RE: Things related to Scout+
I'm thinking of doing a propellant using Scotch instead of water. It can also be Vodka, or ... any suggestions? Raki?
RE: Things related to Scout+
I have to try that, looks like a good propellant. :mail:
RE: Things related to Scout+
Anything but beer. I want to drink the beer.
RE: Things related to Scout+
Mmm ... better leave it with water or hydrogen. Or the drunk pilots are drunk all the fuel.
RE: Things related to Scout+
When accesing detail map of the system game crashes with this error:
RE: Things related to Scout+
Bajuk Welcome, and thank you for trying Scout+ This seems to be a problem of Pioneer and I can not make it happen in Linux. But I want to be sure. Do you remember the circumstances under which this error occurs?
RE: Things related to Scout+
Yea, it constantly happens when you access the "system view" of an unexplored system before u actually get there, after jumping into the system u can access the "system view" and get the generic message that long range telescopes... etc . So if I'm accessing a system view of a system that has any kind of settlement or even just prospecting but no settlements everything is ok but if it's a never explored system game crashes. It doesn't bother me much because unexplored systems wouldn't show anything anyway, but just thought you would like to know.Sorry for the chaotic description I didn't know how to describe it better
RE: Things related to Scout+
I'm trying to get this fault occurs on my system. Do not move from there. :prankster: I assume you have installed pioneer-20140213-win32.7z + Pioneer Scout+ G14 + Pioneer Scout+ G14 FixPack 01 + Pioneer Scout+ G14 FixPack 02 This error occurs without any mod installed?
RE: Things related to Scout+
I found this precedent in GitHub: https://github.com/pioneerspacesim/pioneer/issues/2743 It is likely that we are facing the same problem, but I want to be sure it is not something related to Scout+
RE: Things related to Scout+
I do have both fixpacks and scout+ installed and no other mods. Like I said that crash doesn't really affect the gameplay cause it only happens when you try to do "system view" on an unexplored systems and since there is nothing to see there anyway it doesn't mess with the gameplay. I didn't notice that error occuring in "bare" Pioneer.
RE: Things related to Scout+
I can not reproduce this error in Linux, someone using Windows have this problem?
RE: Things related to Scout+
I'm running it on Windows 7 64bit.
RE: Things related to Scout+
I found it. This is not an error of Scout+, this is a mistake of Pioneer, and happens only in the compilation of Windows. Check this. Removes all Mods, run alone Pioneer. Now find "Greve" system (in 0,2,86) Press F7 and bingo! The most serious is that Greve system does not exist in Linux :O Thank for this catch. :fan: I am preparing the report for GitHub y certainly have a solution in the next release of Pioneer. Now, put the mods back and enjoy the game. :good:
RE: Things related to Scout+
This has been fixed a few days ago. With a few days old Linux version there was a Greve (0,2,86) and it would throw the given assertion on activating system info view. Edit:Those were issues #2743,#2744 by the way
RE: Things related to Scout+
Oh, I see. Then you should check out the version released for Windows. Maybe they compiled a old version by mistake.
RE: Things related to Scout+
@lwhoYou're right, I just saw that the solution was incorporated on 2014.02.14 @ BajukThe fix is in the next release.
RE: Things related to Scout+
No worries, like I said it doesn't spoil the fun cause u can't see anything in those systems before u get there anyway so there is no point in pressing f7
Other than that I love the Scout+ mod. Did anybody ever thought about putting inertia dampners in this game, dogfighting in this game is tough as nails. I was so proud of my self when i killed my first mob, but at speeds over 1km/s its virtually impossible to do anything but just spin around and shoot while traveling in one direction. I get that's the real feel of zero-g but u would think ppl in 32nd century would figure out how to counter the G's in space. Also I know that that might be hard to do but flying inside planets atmosphere has a similar feel to flying in open space with no gravity, u cant feel any atmospheric resistance that would make you switch to a different flying style.
RE: Things related to Scout+
@BajukLast night, before sleeping, I've updated the links to the new release 20140216 Pioneer that had just been published (Thanks @robn and @lwho). I agree with what you said. You will find that there are many wonderful things and many others to improve in the Pioneer engine, and Scout+. The most important thing is that we are all working hard to get things moving fast lately. :mole:
RE: Things related to Scout+
I'm not complaining in the least I find this game as an awesome project, really looking forward to what people come up with to add to it.
RE: Things related to Scout+
Walterar, wonderful work as always! :queen:
