Hello from a regular guy
Hello from a regular guy
My name is Wm Alexander, I'd like to think of myself as just a regular retired 67 year old man that has always held an interest in scyfi movies / tv series and more recently computers and the fact that there appears to some really awesome space gaming for PC's. I am a Christian but I'll leave it at that. I'm really not much of a forum type of person. Please forgive me if I come across rather rude but I get on the computer to play a game or watch a video not to talk to other computer users. I am married to the love of my life to very wonderful woman who doesn't mind me spending so much time on the computer. I also like flying on Microsofts flight simulator and have been doing that since the late 90's. I absolutely love that software but my computer is a cheap one that doesn't have a lot of memory or ram so my graphics are not high quality. I live on a fixed income and so I can only afford what the finances will allow. Well I guess I've bored whoever reads this enough. That's my story and I'm sticking to it and so bye for now.

Hi Wm, I think a lot of people have your issue with an aging computer and personally as long as it has 2-4 cores you should be ok for a little while longer if you make a small upgrade to your memory and/or graphics card when you get the money. You can probably pickup both for under $100 if you catch some deals on newegg.com. Because there is definitely some great games coming out now and in the future you may not want to miss
Welcome to ssc, and checkout the download area there might be something in there you pc could play with ease.

Welcome aboard Alexander. Even if your computer is old, there are plenty of excellent space games to play. (My recomendations The Wing Commander series, the X-Wing series, and if you prefer something more cerebral, Galactic Civillizations II, and Space Rangers 2 : A War Apart. Not to mention that there are plenty of free games, for you to try).
