There isn't much information on the content of next weeks free content update to NMS but here is what was said:


We’ve been listening intently, and are hard at work on fixes and improvements. We wanted to share a little news from behind the scenes.

Whilst most of the team have been busy on weekly updates, a handful have been working on something else, our first titled update since NEXT.

A new free update is releasing next week for all players. We’ve called it The Abyss, because it focuses on some of the eerier elements of No Man’s Sky, in keeping with the theme of this season.


So I guess we will find out what is in this surprise update next week

Beat me too it posting the trailer

After watching it I am pretty impressed with Hello Games, this underwater element is almost like its own separate game personally. I mean they have other games on Steam that do what this free addon does. So NMS seems like it is noww approaching its vision of a game that they were envisioning. Guess soon I will have to buy this after almost 3 yrs
