Looks like this is coming out on 10/23 (beta?) and will be free for all owners of the game. There is some scheduled deep dives into the feature enhancements and addition scheduled for live stream videos.

How longs this game been out now, 4 years and still no planets with atmosphere and I understand that they have abandoned doing any getting out of the ship apart from that Mario cart thing they have for driving around some moons with a bit of mist on them.

Apparently it's too hard to do, which is a bit of surprise considering that Frontier Devs like to portray themselves as a cutting edge game developer.
