The octopus - a very smart critter

Talk about everything else that may happen in life that doesn't happen inside the real world of Space Gaming... is there really anything outside of Space sim/Combat Gaming?

The octopus - a very smart critter

Post by Cody »

I've long known how intelligent is the octopus - right up there with dolphins, in my opinion. This is a thought-provoking piece:

Octopuses are the closest we can come, on Earth, to knowing what it might be like to encounter intelligent aliens.

Intelligent yes, but you forgot to mention how delicious they are.
I kid you Cody. I recall that some one put out a theory that they are not native to the planet, have you heard of this?

Indeed they are! As a young man, I enjoyed eating pulpo. But I learnt, and haven't eaten any since. Posted by: @gaius-konstantine

I have, and it wouldn't be too hard to believe. But somehow, I doubt it, as we seem to share an ancestor.
If you can access the BBC iPlayer, this may be of interest... Octopolis.

News that the world's first commercial octopus farm is closer to becoming reality has been met with dismay by scientists and conservationists.

Very sad! BBC article here.
