FFED3DAJ crashes in win10

Hello,
Ive played elite since the 80s and I own all the games original. I wanna try this "patch" and get some nostalgia.
Heres my problem. After Ive applied the FFED3DAJ files in order and start the game by clicking on the FFED3DAJ.exe it starts up fine with the intro and the awesome music. But as soon as I click or press any key it all crashes. Sometimes I can see the cockpit a few seconds before its out. 
Ive tried to find solutions here and over the internet, but atm nothing which will help me. Ive played FFE earlier with dosbox and it worked just fine.
I run windows 10 pro.
What can be the issue for me?

Might be a tricky one to answer as someone needs to run Window 10 pro and plays the game.
I never used the game on windows 10 myself, but is their any sort of compatibility mode in windows 10.

I haven't tried the FFED3DAJ files yet, but I know I compiled and tested the original FFED3D files on my setup and I have been running Win10Pro at home for years now. Put I haven't touched FFED3D in years so maybe OS patches and maybe gfx card drivers over the years could be causing issues. People would have to really test this out to find out the issues.... but if I recall you are the only one that has had issues on Win10. 
But I would at least try compatibility mode and see if there is a issue.

I have tried with all compatibility modes, but same issue. Its probably what you suggests about all patches etc. I think those are the issue. I will try more and maybe ill get it to work.
