Since there is wind on Mars, I think this is a piece of that wreckage. The path more looks like a shadow since it is a decent size piece. If NASA found life up there you could probably safely say we would never see a video of it. Only way we would know for sure is a independent mission up there to check things out.

It is in the best interest of NASA to show findings of extra terrestrial life, on anotther planet (or even on our own planet). A new breakthrough of that magnitude, would double (at least) the budget of NASA.

@captainkal Agree. A company like SpaceX is created and lives on investment. This is Eldorado. And there will be other companies in space. And you need a reason. Hype. And if you need it, then there will be. It has always been that way.

One of the keys of SpaceX being a leader of cutting - edge technology. Standardizing flights with more and more experience, hence more safety and less loss. A station on Mars or on the Moon would be useful for space exploration, far above the Earth. Grasping the world-wide satellite coverage (logic says debris artifacts should be removed).
Society needs stories, needs 'Eldorado' (right) to escape from catastrophes. People wouldn't buy just scientific and investment needs. Necessary good story of happy ever after in 30 years.
