Frontier 30th Anniversary 2023

Discuss all your favorite classics and retro style games in this area. The only requirement is the game has to be over 15+ yrs old to be considered a classic. Nice tool for playing these classics is DosBox.

Of course, those stats can be improved even further since there has been additional engineering upgrades and other things brought into the game since then, however the images can give you some "ballpark figures" to aim for, anything else on top is a bonus. :)

A lot of catching-up to do, and after 7 years, I expect my ED account is dormant. I bet FD would make me jump through all sorts of hoops to allow me to play again. I'll ponder it for the winter - got to get my eyesight sorted first (which probably entails more eye surgery).

Aye good luck for the surgery Cody.
Must have played Elite on the Amstrad for months but always like Frontier more, it has a grander sense of scale and oddly I have never been a fan of the 16 bit version of Elite, always prefer the 8 bit game.
Bugs in Frontier, oh the auto pilot which crash you straight into the ground.
Maybe another reason why we will never see a remake of Frontier as it would outshine the bland ED.

Thanks guys! From previous experiences at my local hospital, a hefty slice of good luck will be needed.
8-bit Elite? That would've been the original BBC Micro version, which is what I had.

Elite TNK was my favorite out of the 8 bit versions.

And Elite Advanced was my favorite 16 bit version for the good old Amiga.

Mind you Arc Elite was pretty damn cool too it must be said.
