I read the title and had to rush in, I thought @Cody was posting pics of me (The dark emperor knows how to dress) thought I was gonna need to censor him. 
I do recall a STNG episode about alien lifeforms consuming the hulls of ships. But nice lore on that page for the Glowmoss Cody.
