Disaspora is a new BSG themed game that uses the Freespace Open Project engine. It is still under development and looks like they will be releasing the game in episodes. You will be able to fly some of your favorite ships from the BSG series like the Viper, Raptor, Cylon Raider and Blackbird. Sorry, you will not be able to fly Galactica or any of the other capitol ships only fighters.There is some online play planned in where you can do deathmatch style play with either the computer or against human opponents. For a community project that looks very good cannot wait until it gets further alone and the music too. Makes me want to watch some BSG.

Yeah, Diaspora has a lot of promise. I know new developments have been trickling out so we at least know it's still actively developed on.
