Ah I see. I was hoping to work on newer style this weekend and it should be a little more noticeable.

Ok made a few changes as people see now. Only thing I wanted to do that is left is to Bold the topic names and the forum page should be all set and I will try to add a banner to the bottom of the page if I can. I removed the arcade since it really was not being used (sorry to all that may have had hi-scores). I think this theme matches pretty close to the blog theme and I will be trying to put the logo on the mainpage to but it is proving difficult.

Mostly like the new theme except for one thing. The topic titles are always bold so now I don't see an obvious way to determine if a thread has new unread posts in it. Before I could just glance at the bold/unbold state of the titles. Any plans to fix that?

The icons hopefully do the trick because I don't think I can change that because the CSS for that is linked into a lot of other places and would mess up the look & feel from other places as well.- Unread posts inside: - Marks the unread post: You can also mouse-over the icons and they will tell you and for the sub-forums the little page icon will be red instead of black. You can also change the you personal display options in your board preferences under your profile. I haven't played much with those so not sure what your end result would be?

Ahh, I see what you mean with icon colour - my eyes aren't great and I hadn't picked it up. Its quite subtle. There's nothing obvious in the display control panel about unread threads. No big deal, I'll just add a little userscript magic to take care of it :)

Thanks for the reminder. I found this a few days ago and forgot to check the file. I removed the left-over code changes and now everything seems to be working fine again.

Um, Darkone?I dont know if this is a problem with the site or my PC, but all the fonts on the site are now tiny. I can hardly read them  Maybe I am finally going blind after all those years playing Frontier! 8-)

This is interesting. Need to ask a few questions on this because I am not seeing this and you have been the first to speak up on this issue. Is it the whole site or just the forums? When did this occur? And do you normally wear glasses or contacts and your not? :)Do you see that 'Change Font Size' icon in the upper right corner below the logo. Try that and see if it helps. Can try to erase all of the all of the cached pages in cookies for SSC in your browser and close it and restart it.

HiYes that improved things! I must have accidentally hit it by mistake  , but pressing it twice sorted it a bit. Thanks Darkone ! :)EDIT: It does still look a bit smaller than it did though. Other sites I visit are just the same :?

Try looking through your browser settings and look for anything that has to deal with fonts or accessability. Have you updated your browser recently? You could just export all your bookmarks and uninstall and re-install your browser. I know FF6.0.2 I use right now and works great.Flushing the browser cache might help you, but if you are seeing this issue on more than one website than it would either be a browser setting issue or possibly OS font/sizing issue. I guess the big question is when did you start seeing the changes and what did you do or update around that time. I know a lot of that crap websites and software install into your toolbar on your browser can cause some havoc and give you malware/spyware at the same time.

I changed the font settings in FF 6.0.2 and that helped things get back to normal. Why it changed in the first place is a mystery, maybe a virus? Anyways, I ran a full virus check just to be safe. The smilies are still tiny though. :?EDIT, was just on the Frontier Forum and after changing the font settings in FF, the fonts are now much bigger than they were, while the SSCs are still the same. Now I am confused. Could it be an encoding issue?EDIT MKII: Trying out Internet Explorer with the site, and everything is back to normal. So it must be an issue with Fire Fox.

I started changing, editing and merging forum areas on SSC.Didn't make the cut and removed entirely, the whole military and combat simulation and gaming area. The Mobile and Web Gaming area is now a combination of (webbased gaming forum, tradewars and MUD based games, mobile games).I will be editing some of the descriptions to remove deadlinks and things like that.Just some thoughts on things I might change or do and wouldn't mind some opinions on it:- I might merge both commercial and open-source indie forums.- Jumpgate forum area might disappear and I might just leave a few threads from that area. All forums and websites for JGC and JGE are now dead.- My thoughts on moving games to the main 'Standalone Space/SciFi Combat and Simulation Games' forum. I am thinking about actively moving sub-forums and certain threads to this forum once a game is officially released for sale (all free and open-source games will stay put). But the 'Standalone Space/SciFi Combat and Simulation Games' area is meant for paid games so I think it is right to migrate the games to this area as they are completed and sold? And as always you see anything that needs fixing or removed do let me know. So anything that makes SSC's move to new software easier is worth the time to do.

Umm, got a problem with your anti-bot registration:It asked "Which Sci-Fi Movie series came first"?"Star WarsStar TrekNow, Star Wars ANH was released in 1977The Star Trek Movie Series' first movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, in 1979The Star Trek Television Series (aka The Original Series), aired their first episode in 1966SO, after looking up the information, I put down that Star Wars came before Star Trek, as the question asked which "Movie series" came first.... Apparently the question was not phrased correctly! :P :P :P

You had me puzzled for a second or two there - having never seen the three se/prequels, they don't exist for me (nor should they exist at all, from what I hear). I'd no idea that Star Wars had been re-christened Star Wars ANH. Still, you got the right answer - welcome aboard!

I thought I phrased it right because I was asking for a movie series, which Star Wars is the right answer. I guess it is meant to be a little tricky for some because its to stop them pesky bots from getting in here :)
