Dust 514 is Coming

This looks to be an amazing game and extension to EVE Online. From what I have seen and read very briefly it will be a FPS that ties into EVE Online in a way that the out come of battles on EVE planets will tie into the PC MMO fleet based action. Check this out:

Forgot to mention that Dust 514 is going to be a console based game that will tie into the PC based MMO. And the speaker said Dust 514 means something in the EVE universe any EVE guru figure it out?

The concept is what I like the most Pinback. The console game (Dust 514) is going to represent the battles for planet resources and sectors in EVE Online. So know the console and PC gamers will have to work together to control the sections of the EVE Universe. And maybe now having the best fleet may not be the sure all win in controlling the game. I would like to see eventually the ability to play EVE through the console (but maybe that is their entire plan)

Thats amazing if they can pull it off.pity it not going to be on pc but I guess the pc gamers would ammihilate the console monkey

I'm sure with enough user feedback, CCP will accommodate the PC user requests for a PC version. What I like about the concept is the fact that a not so powerful fleet could actually win and succeed in taking on a bigger force if there ground forces are really good.

This game scares the bejesus out of me..It's something we've ultimately wanted to do ourselves, and is part of our long-term plan. Very long-term it has to be said.But also once it's out I wonder if any of us here will get any coding done! That's the real scary part!

I guess you can say it only scares me because someone might actually get a MMO right for once. Give us the full experience of space/rpg/fps/tactical all in one package. If CCP pulls if off on a multi-system platform basis it will be a cash cow for a while for them

Dust 514 means something apparently.... well I guess I'm not clever enough for CCP Helmar :)I'm not going to Fan Fest but I'm sure we'll have much more information then. Ah those cryptic CCP vikings....

WOW!! What I really want to know is if I'll be able to play Eve through Dust 514 on the console. If those eggheads were half as smart as I hope they are, they would make that happen and give the folks perhaps the most complete game ever. What I haven't learned from either video is whether this game will have a single player campaign, or is this going to be a MP only shooter? I sure hope it's the former...

From what I gather Dust 514 will be MP only to tie into what is going on in EVE Online universe. I would love nothing more than to see CCP take advantage of the opportunity they have. They can actually bridge the PC and Console gap with one game that gives you a well rounded experience with the PC you have the strategy of space battles and on the consoles you have the fast paced FPS action. I am watching this one closely to see how they get it done. I would like to see EVE Online on the console and Dust 514 on the PC but we'll see.

I got the impression from reading about the game that the two networks were going to be separate,with only minimal interaction between the player of the two games.

When I have had time I have played in the beta on the PS3 and its really good and I have to login and play a little more since I haven't in two months. The combat is solid and I would like to see if they have integrated any on EVE Online into Dust 514 at all since my last play time with the game. But it is a definite solid team based FPS and I had zero lag when I played.
