put your spacehelmets on!

Post by Potsmoke66 »

hi out thereby the way can't get ffe3d to run properly, only few ship's been displayed (ok, maybe there are no ;-), no starmap, no buttons, no nothing, except a few ships, the "sky"the console and text. is this game mod in such a bad state of development or must be something wrong with my machine or OS?using XP sp2 on a 2ghz athlon and a radeon 9000 (not state of art, i know).and to all the ladies and gentlemen who creates models for such open sourced 3D games, respect allways that there are people using slower machines then yours.skill in modelling is to get a good looking model without using too much polys, you can do a lot by tuning the normals (almost make a sphere from a cube ;-).imagine, sometimes in a game are a lots of different objects with multiple textures at the same time on the screen.live long and prosperousornano nano

Are you running FFED3D standard with no additional addons or models? Because generally the game is pretty solid. Just want to make sure your not messing up some tweaks.

I think they can to a point, you have to think your running a gfx card that is a few years old. And even though most developers will make a game playable on lower end systems you are truly missing the experience unless you have the recommended system. Even recommended system specs are two year old system builds. I upgrade my PC's like every three years, can do it pretty cheaply now.And even though the original gfx for FFE are dated it is great to see a classic game come back to life with a facelift and I welcome all the textures and poly's they can put on the screen. I think developers should facelift a bunch of the classics.
