I would like to see a large scale wargame using the combat system from Space Rangers 2..but with a Z axis.

This feature in games would be just great. In most games you hire AI players to join you. But it would be great if people joined you just because of your rep or you saved there butt in battle a few times. Nice list Acey!

Yamo, isn't SR2 a 2D game? It would rough showing Z axis without making it a 3D game.

yes ..turn based 3d combat....like star fleet battles war game...but bettter
....with a zoomable rotateable (3 axis) camera.

1: Use a civil war setting with the player able to choose his or her side at the beginning.2: The player starts the campagin as the CAG on an outdated light carrier with older fighters for the government faction, and a converted large armed cargo vessel with modified stunt craft, and upgraded museum peices for the rebels with the player being promoted to more important carriers as the campagin progresses becoming CAG of their faction's flagship near the end of the game.3: The player earns prestige based on how well they do in both plotting and flying missions and can use it to purchase new fighters and bombers or pilots for their wing.4: FTL works like in the new BSG but all ships including fighters and bombers are FTL drive equipped.5: In addition to assigning ships and pilots to any non scramble missions and alert 5 duty plus combat space patrols for the area around your carrier when planning missions which involve FTL travel you can pick where the ships from your command arrive within the mission area or use pre plotted entery points if you choose.6: Primary weapons come in 3 subtypes. Projectiles with limited ammo but practically unlimited range (The shots fly until they hit something) Energy Bolts which fire one shot per trigger pull, and Energy Bursts which fire a set number of pulses with each pull. Bolts do more damage then a full burst but Bursts recycle faster and if one pulse in a burst finishes off a craft's shields the pulses after it damage the hull. There are also Bolts and Bursts which disable rather then destroy craft.7: Secondary weapons include missiles which are most accurate and can home on targets, Torpedoes which do the most damage but can only be used by bombers, and Rocket pods which basically spray rockets into an area. All of the above also have disabling varients.8: all fighters and bombers have at leastt one burst weapon, one bolt weapon, and two hardpoints for secondary weapons. Medium fighters and up must have a projectile weaponas well, and heavies must have at least 5 primary weapons
