RE: Pardus
The prices on the premier accounts are a bit steep for a browser game.

Yeah, sadly more and more browser-based games seem to be going this way, it's a shame but not surprising, that's the way life goes I guess, everything eventually becomes more and more commercialized.
RE: Pardus
Guess in the end it always comes down to the money these days. You really have to show me a lot of worth for me to fork over $$ for a web based game. I get to bored of them usually within a week or two.

You need never pay to play Pardus and still realize all the features it has to offer as a "Persistent Brower MMO". The premium option has some window dress and presents some options for faster / easier skilling. Although, I'm surprised to hear $6/month for premium is considered steep. What you have in Pardus is a dynamic, persistent Elite-style game (single ship, trading, combat, etc). If you enjoyed Braben's classics, you would likely have a great time in Pardus. What is ISN'T is your typical link-clic fest browser game. You can travel through over 100 sectors containing nebulas / planets / spacestations / asteroid fields / NPC baddies / et al.The player base is responsive, and from my experience, above average in maturity vs your standard MMO playerbase.Give it a try for a couple weeks before passing judgement (which I see often on this forum).

I haven't passed judgement on Pardus at all yet. I haven't played it, but I have never been a huge fan of the web-based games in general. And my mention of the price of the game was when I looked over the news items and that certain items were for sale or that is what it seemed like. This is my personal preference is that I like to know going into a game that has any type of premiere or micro-transaction system is that a person that doesn't pay for items can still be competitive and attain the same goods? That general concept has turned me off from a lot of these F2P games in the end, I have no problem playing a subscription based game as long as everyone is on equal footing.Hopefully I will get some time to test out Pardus in the future and if anyone wants to make a review I will gladly put it up on the main page.
