Asteroid 2010AL30 came close to Earth today

Well looks like good ole planet Earth had an asteroid get close today. How close? The asteroid '2010 AL30' was approxiately 1/2 of the distance between the Earth and the Moon to Earth.You can read the whole article here: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2010/01/new-asteroid/But just goes to show you that these objects can sneak up on Earth and that maybe more observatories should be made to watch the skies. Even though 2010AL30 wouldn't have posed to much a danger to Earth it just makes you think of how quick everything could change on Earth
