The player was to unravel clues and find pieces of a puzzle to discover RiftSpace, where the player would be faced by Vonari guardians of the system. RiftSpace is a totally different game from the StarWraith series. RiftSpace introduced freeform gameplay by letting the player select their own contracts, travel to wherever you want and complete any objectives you want to. There is a non-mandatory story mixed in with the freeform gameplay and if you do the story you will get clues to location of the mysterious system known as RiftSpace.
